Armour Block

The integrated team of Hindle Architects and HCMA is currently working on the modernization of the historic Armour Block. Built in four phases between 1909-1912, the Armour Block has played an important role in establishing 4 Street NE as a commercial center within the inner-city communities of Bridgeland and Crescent Heights. For over 100 years, this block has served residents' everyday needs by providing affordable housing and community gathering spaces, including Wiggin's Dance Hall which occupied the building’s lower level between 1915 and 1945.

This municipally designated heritage resource will be adapted to accommodate additional affordable housing units, commercial and community spaces, and a new 2-bay fire hall to serve the evolving needs of the local community.
