Located in the small farming community of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, The Grand Theatre is considered to be the longest continually operating private theatre in western Canada. Originally opened as an opera house 1904, this volunteer led facility is both a historic landmark and a social hub for the regional community.
The Grand Theatre's vision is to become a robust, self-sustaining movie theatre and creative arts centre run by, and responsive to, the needs of the citizens of Indian Head and the surrounding area. ‘The Grand’ aims to become a home for live theatre, dance performances, concerts, lectures, conferences, film festivals, and other community functions.
Hindle Architects recently hosted a community open house to present a conceptual vision for the theatre. Please visit the Grand Theatre’s home page for information about this exciting event!
